Support for 'Saving Mothers' Life at Birth'

A matter of great satisfaction enjoyed that NAMUNA has taken initiation and donated 2000 ampoules of 'Oxytocin' injection for the Birthing Centers in Rupandehi district. On December 5, 2015 the injections were handed over in a program to the District Public Health Office, Rupandehi to be supplied for needed 18 Birthing Centers in the district. (The 'Oxytocin' as a medication, used to cause contraction of the uterus in order to start labor or increase the speed of labor, and to stop bleeding following delivery. For this purpose, it is given either by injection into a muscle or into a vein).

The short supply case was reported by the local Media and raised the issue that many rural health institutions run out of life saving drugs such as Oxytocin due to blocked imposed by India to Nepal. Thus, 'Oxytocin' actually considered as life-saving drugs.

Thanks to TEWA, Lalitpur for lending supportive hands during hard time for saving Mothers' life in Rupandehi.
